Craig Reid and his team at Professional Holiday Homes in NSW have generously offered to donate the use of one of their holiday homes. We are delighted to be able to pass on this generous offer to our bereaved families. We hope that this will give our families the gift of reprieve from their grief.
OUR JOURNEY
A few months after we lost our gorgeous little Jack we were offered use of a holiday house. We were in the midst of our grief and were struggling living without Jack. It is fair to say that as a family with 2 young boys we were struggling to do the ‘normal’ things families do. There were far too few smiles, and it was difficult as parents to find joy or manufacture joy for our other boys. We almost didn’t take up the offer of the house, we were heartbroken to experience life without little Jack. We had to remind ourselves that our other boys had been living the cancer journey too for a long time before he died. Our lives were suspended and then trapped. Thankfully we went, we took our grief with us, and it was a profound moment for us in reframing life without Jack. We want to be able to give others that.
We want to Thank Professional Holiday Homes for their involvement in allowing our charity to offer bereaved families the option of a family break. We hope that this will provide some respite from the day-to-day struggle that is inevitable.
The NSW Holiday home is available to all eligible families across Australia. Travel costs not included.
